Decoding the Biology of Skin Longevity

Skin longevity aims to preserve the biological mechanisms that maintain healthy, resilient and functional skin over time.

BioToSkin develops human in vitro and ex vivo models to demonstrate the efficacy of cosmetic ingredients, formulations and nutraceuticals on the key pathways involved in skin ageing. Our studies combine advanced biomarkers, primary human cells and fresh human skin explants to generate scientific evidence supporting both product claims and marketing differentiation.

Whenever possible, in vitro and ex vivo studies can be performed using cells and tissues obtained from the same donor, providing enhanced biological relevance. For nutraceutical applications, skin longevity studies can also be combined with digestion, intestinal permeability and gut barrier models to link oral exposure with skin efficacy.

Biomarkers of Skin Longevity

From Established Markers to Emerging Longevity Targets

BioToSkin evaluates both established biomarkers widely recognized by the cosmetic industry and innovative biomarkers emerging from longevity research. This approach allows clients to build robust scientific dossiers while supporting differentiated product positioning.
